GPM 818
This GPM 818 ghettoblaster was sold in Europe. It's not very good quality. I've owned 2 of them, and the controls had mysterious problems, like the balance control being totally skewed, and the volume being all or nothing. The paint quality is also poor. But, it's still a very interesting model with a number of interesting details. For example, the crosshair tuner needle and the frequency graph printed on the dial. And the very cool LED meter, whose left and right channels spread outwards, unlike the way most meters work. It also has nice aluminum side plates, similar to those used by the Sanyo M9994. There are music search buttons above the tape door. On top, there are slots for a shoulder strap. Unfortunately I've been unable to find a strap that fits those slots.
Note: There was a silver version of this boombox with the "His Master's Voice" brand. And there's another AKA called the Victoria CPR-5000B.
