You simply can't find another 1-piece boombox from the 80's, 90's, or 00's with as much bass as a JVC Kaboom. The amount of air that flows from the bass ducts is almost like a hair dryer!
JVC sold several versions of the Kaboom. This RV-DP100, introduced in 2000, was one of the best. Like other Kabooms, it has an AM/FM radio, CD player, tape player, and Aux input. But it also has a drum pad and scratch & rhythm palette with several pre-programmed beats. It also has adjustable mids and treble, a nice feature that appears to be missing on most other Kabooms. The one pictured below is a RV-DP100BK, probably because it's black (actually more like dark gray).
Note: The large black knobs have a shitty "soft touch" rubberized coating. Even brand new in the box, the chemical compound of that coating is unstable and will eventually degrade to a sticky substance. The only thing you can do is remove that compound (with rubbing alcohol) and repaint the knobs.

- Output: A total of 42 watts @ 10% THD, or 60 watts "max". (This is according to the service manual. But the box says 52 watts, so I'm not sure which is correct). For amplifiers it has one Toshiba TA8233H, one Toshiba TA8223K, and one Rohm B1565. It is a bi-amped system with separate amplification for highs and lows.

The subwoofers have traditional cellulose cones with rubber surrounds, are rated for 4 Ohms, and measure exactly 16cm across the mounting holes.
