Hitachi TRK-8800

The TRK-8800 and TRK-8800E were high-quality boomboxes from the year 1980. The 8800 has analog needle meters, while the 8800E has LED meters. Photos of both are shown below. Both are very similar to the TRK-8190, but with a more advanced, soft-touch logic deck. This logic deck allowed Hitachi to provide 3 additional features not possible before: Auto-rewind, timer stand-by, and a remote control / mic that could operate the tape deck remotely (this was available only with the top-of-the-range 8800RM, please see that page).
