One of the rarest boomboxes, this one was built in France and has swivel mics!

Continental Edison RC-5997

This is a very rare boombox with two very rare features: Swivel mics, and a toroidal transformer! On top of that, it was built in France! So you will need a translator to figure out the controls, but I'll go ahead and tell you it has adjustable bass and treble ("Graves" and "Aigus"), Loudness ("Contour"), Stereo Wide, tape type selector, mic mixing, tuner light, and auxiliary input.

Dimensions: 44cm wide and 27cm tall
Power: 220V or 8 D-cell batteries
Speakers: Foster brand, 13cm and 5cm
Amplifier: Two SGS-Thomson TBA-810CB chips.

Disassembly instructions:
1) Remove the tuner knob, band knob, mic level knob, bass knob, treble knob, volume knob, and balance switch.
2) You do NOT need to remove the swivel mics or the toggle switches.
3) Remove 5 screws on the back and 3 on the bottom.
4) Pull out the bottom edge first, and then pull the case up to clear the pots and switches.
5) There are several wires that need to be disconnected.
6) During re-assembly, ensure that the front headphone and DIN jacks fit correctly. They are mounted on free-floating circuit boards that might shift around and interfere with the mounting tabs.
