The GF-505 is the Japanese domestic version of the Sharp GF-9494. It was priced at 84,800 yen. It was offered in two colors, the GF-505SB which is dark gray, and the GF-505ST which is silver. They have two sliders below the tape deck that the GF-9494 does not have. These are to control tape speed and echo.

Because this is a Japanese domestic boombox, it operates on 100 volts AC. The FM radio band, however, is not restricted like most other Japanese boomboxes. It goes all the way to 108 MHz.

Dimensions: 556 x 310 x 136 mm
Speakers: 18cm and 5cm
Power Output: 2 x 6 watts EIAJ/DC (EIAJ is an electronics industry association, and the DC presumably means the output was measured when using DC/batteries).
Wow & flutter: 0.09% (WRMS)
Frequency response: 50 - 15,000Hz when using chrome tape
