One of Sanyo's best boomboxes, with LCD Digital Plus tuning.

Sanyo M-X820

This was the top of the line from Sanyo. A very heavy model with high-quality controls and wood-grain trim. It has both a conventional tuning dial as well as a "floating" LCD screen that travels along with the tuning needle. It is 57cm wide, with 16cm woofers and 5cm tweeters. It's supposed to be one of Sanyo's best-sounding boomboxes. I would love to play it head to head against an M-X960 Big Ben to see which one sounds better.

There are 2 versions of this boombox. The first has simulated wood trim and big needle meters. This is the most common version. The second version, shown in the last photo, doesn't have the wood trim or the needle meters. Instead, it has Sanyo's AMSS music search feature above the tape deck, and LED meters in the upper left corner of the tuner dial. That photo is from an Australian catalog, but I've never seen it in real life. Also, please check out the M-X824 which is nearly identical to the first version, but without the wood trim.
