The RC636 was sold in 1978 and features 16cm speakers and a big VU meter. It also has slots for a shoulder strap. It measures 19 inches wide, including the beautiful chrome tuner knob. The label on the tape door says power output is 9,000 MW (9 watts), but the JVC catalog says it's really only 4 watts when measured by the FTC method. Mine has very weak bass output, but maybe there's something wrong with it.
