One of the most classic looking boomboxes ever designed. Tons of shiny chrome and aluminum. Tons of knobs and switches. DRPS (Digital Random Program Selection). Full auto stop. VU meters and tuning strength meter. It has 6 inch woofers and 2 inch tweeters, and put out 5 watts per channel. It weighs 14.8 lbs (6.7 kg), not including batteries. It accepts 8 D-cell batteries.

It was available in two color combinations: The TRK-8180EM which is silver with silver speaker rings and chrome dust-caps, and the TRK-8180E (Europe) and TRK-8181H (North America) which are dark gray with bronze speaker rings and black dust-caps.
