Crown CSC-350

The CSC350 is a very unique radio from Crown. It has some nice analog VU meters and a tuner light, which many people have changed to LED which looks very nice. There is also a 5-band graphic equalizer and Dolby. It's a 13.5V model, so it takes 9 D-cell batteries. According to the service manual, its output power is 2x7 watts at 10% distortion. It has four 12cm diameter speakers. All of them have foam edges, which you will need to replace if that hasn't been done already. The outer two are active speakers with whizzer cones, and the inner two are passive radiators. If you disassemble this boombox, you will discover two sealed plastic chambers encasing the left and right speaker pairs. Their purpose is to isolate the left and right channels and ensure that the active speaker can successfully pressurize the passive radiator.
