Emerson is a well known brand having produced everything from electric shavers to microwave ovens and clock radios. They seem to be largely ignored by the collecting community which is probably just as well since they seem to be fairly uncommon at least on the used marketplace. It appears they primarily produced low end models sold to the consumer masses and not the type of equipment you would expect to find in dedicated stereo stores which were common in the late 1970's to early 1980's. Today, most electronic goods are sold via large store resellers such as Best Buy, Walmart, etc, and their products are exactly the type you would expect to find populating those shelves.
