Toshiba RT-8980SM

The RT-8980SM was built in 1980. In Japan it was called the BomBeat New8. It measures 520 x 307 x 159mm. It has MQJS (Music Quick Jumping Selector) which allows you to advance to specific tracks on your cassette. It has 6 speakers (16cm woofers, 5cm tweeters, and 4cm super-tweeters). The amplifier chip is a Toshiba TA7229P. Power output is 5 watts per channel according to the Japanese EIAJ/DC standard.

It is almost the same as the Toshiba RT-8890S BomBeat 16 except that it has different speaker grills.
