High-powered, top-of-the-line 3-piece boombox from Aiwa's 1982 lineup. 2x15W minimum, 2x18W max.

Aiwa CA-100

The Aiwa CA-100 was a high-quality, 3-piece boombox made in 1982. It was either top-of-the-line, or close to it. It has a heavy-duty toroidal transformer for stable current regulation. Power output is 2x15W minimum, into 6 ohms from 70 to 15,000 Hz @ 10% THD. Maximum power is 2x18W. It has adjustable Dynamic Super Loudness (DSL) to boost the low-volume bass production. The speakers are 2-way (12cm woofers, 5cm tweeters). During these years, Aiwa's tape decks were much better than their competitors, as witnessed by this model's very low wow and flutter rating of only 0.045% WRMS, and its wide frequency response of 30 to 16,000 Hz when using Metal tape.
