The RC-727 was a high-quality boombox from JVC. It was introduced in 1978. What's cool is that it has both VU meters as well as an LED peak indicator. Another cool feature is the rotating microphones, which can be rotated 90 degrees for different recording angles. It was also one of the few JVC's to have Stereo Wide.

Power output is 2 watts per channel. If this doesn't sound like much, remember that JVC was using the FTC measurement standard, which is the most conservative. Most other manufacturers would have used a more liberal standard like "RMS Max" or "Music Power", which would have allowed them to claim anything from 4 to 10 watts per channel.

Dimensions: 446 x 260 x 124mm

There is a version called the RC-727JW which has universal voltage and shortwave.
