The CRS-152 is a very unique wood-grain boombox from 1974, with detachable speakers.

Marantz Superscope CRS-152

The Superscope CRS-152 was a small 3-piece boombox from 1974. It was made in Taiwan and features an AM/FM Stereo tuner with AFC, a tape deck, and inputs for Line In, Mic, and Line Out. The speakers can fold up and lock against the back of the unit. They can also be detached completely. Interestingly, the microphones are built into the speakers instead of the main unit. This enables you to position the microphones as far apart as you want. The speaker cables are DIN format, capable of powering both the speakers and the microphones. Overall, this is a small system without many features, but it was built surprisingly well for a 1970's Taiwanese product. The cables are thick, and so are the speaker walls. Output is 1 watt per channel, continuous. Frequency response at -3dB is 100 to 15,000 Hz.
