Aiwa CX-JD5

Here we have another "shelf stereo system" from the early 2000s. This one claims to make 3,000 watts PMPO, or 270 watts RMS. This despite the fact that the rated power consumption is only 255w.

The JAX-D5 center section includes a 3-disc CD/DVD player, 2 tape decks, Dolby DTS Surround, BBE Sound, component video out jacks, and a subwoofer out jack. The SX-JD5 speakers have a metallic badge proudly saying "Twin Drive 4-Speaker System" hovering over the oddly-shaped bass port (which doesn't look like it was acoustically optimized). This system also includes a center speaker and two surround speakers. I have no idea how it sounds, but at least it has traditional knobs for volume, bass and treble.
