<a class="wiki" href="Sanyo" rel="">Sanyo</a> MD-U4 Mini-Disc boombox is a Japan Domestic offering. It is rather unique. I wouldn't say futuristic, maybe minimalistic? Anyhow, the whole unit is textured silver. It's got some heft to it so it feels really sturdy, especially for it's small size. But it also feels like it might survive a small drop or getting thrown onto a couch, something a classic boombox might not fare well with. Even the antenna retracts fully but into the side. Once you pull it out all the way, you can swivel it up or orient it as you desire for best reception. When you operate any control, the back light led lights up the display for good visibility. The handle is fixed. Basically, there's nothing really (unless you have the antenna extended) that would snag or catch. Being a Japan Domestic product, unfortunately, the FM tuner only goes from 76-90MHZ.
