The MW580 was one of Sanyo's top-level minis. It has detachable 3-way speakers, meaning there's a total of 6 speakers (four 8cm cones and two piezo tweeters). The cones on the front have bigger magnets and better bass, while the cones on top are more for vocal presence I guess. Interestingly, Sanyo added a pair of wood sticks inside the speakers to brace the walls.

There's a 5-band graphic equalizer, along with a button called "REC EQUALIZER". I'm assuming this button allows you to use the equalizer to adjust the music you're recording on tape. This is a very uncommon feature on a boombox.

This model takes 8 C-cell batteries, or you will need to find a suitable 12V power adapter. You cannot use a standard AC cord on this model.
