This mini stereo appeared in the 1981 Sears catalog. We believe it was made by Sanyo.

Sears LXI Series mini component system

This "LXI Series" mini stereo system was sold by Sears in 1981 and 1982. It consists of 3 components (amp, tuner, and cassette deck), plus a pair of 2-way bookshelf speakers (part number 564.94000150). There were two versions, both of which are shown below. One had a soft-touch deck, and the other wasn't soft touch. We think these systems were made by Sanyo, as they are virtually identical to the Sanyo Mini System II. The amp component (catalog number 564.92491150) contains a Sanyo STK-461 integrated amp chip. The Sears catalog says this system makes 20 watts per channel (minimum) from 60 to 20,000 Hz, at no more than 0.5% total harmonic distortion.
