Sharp GF-9595

The GF-9595 was a very advanced boombox, considering the year it was introduced (1980). Its space-age appearance made it look very different than every other radio from that year. It was available in black or silver. The silver one was called the GF-9595HS. Output power is 2x6W Sinus (RMS).

This boombox is loaded with features! Look at all those buttons and switches. The digital PLL synthesizer tuner has 15 station presets. The electronic quartz clock has timer and alarm functions. It also has SNRS, which I think was Sharp's imitation of Dolby. The only thing this boombox lacks is a soft-touch tape deck, which would be offered one year later on the GF-9797.
