Sharp GF-767
The Sharp GF-767 is a monster of a boombox from the early 1980s. It's very similar to the GF-777, but it's missing a few features: The subwoofer adjuster knobs, the Mic input on the bottom edge, the Mic mixing and fader controls, Tape Fader, Echo, and SNRS noise reduction. And instead of APLD track search that lets you choose how many tracks to skip, it has a simpler version called APSS that can only skip one track at a time. Finally, it only has one VU meter instead of two. That's quite a few missing features. However, some people say the GF-767 looks better than the GF-777 because it has blue grills and a blue tuner dial. Obviously it's a matter of personal taste. Both are very impressive looking boomboxes that would look good in anyone's collection. To my knowledge, both models have the same speakers, amps, and power output. And both models are from the 1981/1982 timeframe. Before purchasing one, check the voltage on the back to see if it will work in your country. There were different versions for different parts of the world, like the GF-767E, the GF-767H, and the GF-767Z.
