Funai was a legitimate manufacturer who made boomboxes for Sears, Realistic, and GE.

Funai Electric Trading Co., LTD was located in Osaka, Japan. Many boomboxes that say Sears, Realistic, and GE were actually made by Funai. They also made some with their own name on them:
