The RT-8097 was produced by Toshiba in 1987. It is a very unusual boombox, because it has a detachable subwoofer that fits under the main body. This is called DBSS (Dynamic Bass Sound System) and it funnels the bass through 2 front-facing bass ports. This DBSS module even has its own dedicated volume control.

SPECS:

• 540mm wide, 202mm tall, 189mm deep
• Two 12cm full-range speakers, and one 10cm subwoofer
• 6.3kg without batteries
• Eight D-cell batteries
• Tape frequency response: 30Hz to 16kHz using metal tape
• CD frequency response: 20Hz to 20kHz
