The RP8880 is a 9-band world radio that can be run on 8 D-cell batteries, or a 12V car battery. It has dual telescoping antennas plus a "revolving gyro antenna for superior MW/LW reception". It uses a 5-inch, 4 ohm "unicone" speaker with separate bass and treble controls. According to the service manual, the amplifier puts out 4 watts "maximum", or 3 watts "undistorted". I won't get into the other features, because I'm not a shortwave expert.
