This model RT-8290 (also called BomBeat 12) is from the year 1980 and offers autoreverse and lots of nice metal trim.

Toshiba RT-8290S

This RT-8290 is fairly small for a midsize boombox (18 inches wide, including the tuning knob). But it still looks great, with tons of brushed metal trim all over the front and top. And there's a flashy LED meter in the upper left corner. The service manual, which is dated Dec 1980, says that its output power is 2x3.8W at 10% distortion. It has 12cm woofers (4 watt, 4 ohms) and 5cm tweeters (3 watt, 8 ohms). It has Aux input, so you can connect your MP3 player to it. But instead of the usual RCA jacks, it has 3.5mm jacks, so you will need a 3.5mm splitter cable with a male 3.5mm on one end that splits off into dual male 3.5mm on the other.
