A nice-looking boombox with 3-way speakers, it's a cousin of the Rising PC-007.

MTC MS-3030

This Canadian boombox was sold with at least 5 other brand names: Citizen, Sears, Polyvox, Mona, and Rising. The Citizen was sold at Eatons department stores in Canada. The Mona was sold in Canada too, probably at a different department store. The Polyvox was sold in Brazil. The Sears was sold in America. The Rising PC-007 was sold in Europe, particularly Germany. Since the speaker magnets in all of them say Rising, I'm going to assume that all of these boomboxes were made by Rising, but there might be a parent company above that. Whatever the case, I think this is the best-looking version. It has bigger sliders than the Rising, and more festive tweeter grills.

It measures 595mm long, 244mm tall (handle down), and 158mm deep. The tuner is nice, it's got very good reception and an LED needle. And the tuner wheel has a cool funky shape. There's a 4-band graphic equalizer which is strange, because most equalizers have 3, 5, or 7 bands. The tape deck has a mysterious button for "RNR" which I assume is probably Rising's imitation of Dolby Noise Reduction. There's also a big LED VU meter that measures input levels.

I was impressed when I opened the speakers. They are true 3-way systems, with good magnets. All 3 speakers are Rising brand. The woofer is 11cm diameter, part number HSP-007, 5 ohm, 15 watts. It has foam surrounds, which will need replacement if it hasn't been done already. The large cone tweeter is 5cm diameter, part number HSP-008, 4.5 ohm, 5 watts. The small dome tweeter is 3cm diameter, part number HSP-009, 4 ohm, 4 watts.
