Lloyds PT003

The Lloyds PT-003 was a very colorful and stylish boombox from Taiwan. It measures 23.5 inches wide and 13.75 inches tall (handle down). It has 22CM badges on the front case, trying to make you believe the woofers are 22CM diameter, but if you take it apart and measure them, you will discover they're actually only 20CM. The LED meter has a nice-looking X pattern, similar to those used by Lasonic.

Re-branded versions include the Nysonic SG-5000 and the Orbex MS-999. And the Helix HX-4636 also appears to use the same basic architecture and control layout.

When taken apart, this box is pretty hollow and empty inside. It only weighs 13.5 lbs without batteries. That's about 3 lbs lighter than a JVC M70, which is a smaller box. But at least each tape deck has its own motor, unlike most other black dual-deck boxes. And the sound quality is pretty good, in my opinion. Unfortunately there are no Line In or Phono inputs. It only has a Mic input, which I'm assuming is mono only.
