Sharp WQ-T352
The WQ-T352H is a 1-piece ghettoblaster from Sharp that was sold during the mid-late 1980's. It has a hidden, internal woofer called X-Bass. This woofer measures 8cm and is powered by its own dedicated amp, 8 watts @ 150 Hz @ 10% THD. As you can see from the diagrams below, this woofer is mounted to an internal resonance chamber (the "Bass Box") which magnifies the bass and directs it out the port under the cassette deck. The other 4 speakers (two 12cm woofers and two pizeo tweeters) are powered by another amp that provides 2 x 4 watts @ 1 kHz.
The tape deck accepts two tapes in the same drawer, but that's the only thing special about it. Its wow and flutter (0.15%) and frequency response (60 - 12,000 Hz) are rather inferior.
The WQ-T352 boombox measures 534mm wide, 190mm tall, and 175mm deep. It takes eight D-cell batteries. The service manual can be purchased HERE.
