JVC, Victor, Nivico (Japan Victor Corporation).
It is hard to find anyone who has not heard of the JVC name. They are a major producer of consumer and professional electronics. They are apparently best known for introducing Japan's firs televisions and developing the VHS (video home system) video recorders. In 2008, they merged with Kenwood to become JVC Kenwood Holdings.
JVC sold a very robust line of audio electronics, from entry level to very respected high end models. Perhaps one of their best known models is the always in high demand JVC RC-M90 boombox. Between 2012 and 2014, the author is aware of several examples that sold between $2,000 and $5,000 USD on the online auction company eBay.com. A list of their portable audio boombox models are shown below. Some models have radios, radio with cassette player, and radio with cassette player and TV.
