The RT-S931 is a very rare ghettoblaster with MQJS (Music Quick Jumping Selector) and a detachable remote control.

Toshiba RT-S931

The Toshiba RT-S931 is very good-looking. It also sounds excellent. Its most unique feature is a detachable wireless remote control for the cassette deck. We do not know of another model by any manufacturer with this feature. This remote fits under the cassette deck and operates the deck just like any servo-controlled deck (which was already an advanced feature in those years). The remote can be detached and operated wirelessly (batteries are required). Sadly, many of these remotes have been lost, rendering the tape deck useless.

It was introduced in 1981, and measures 520 x 307 x 172mm. It has 18cm woofers and 4cm tweeters. It takes 9 D-cell batteries. Output power is 2x6 watts by the EIAJ/DC industry standard.
