This boombox was also called the BomBeat R1. It was an expensive model.

Toshiba RT-9100SM

The RT-9100SM (also called the Bombeat R1) was one of the more expensive boomboxes from Toshiba. It was introduced in 1979, priced at 79,800 yen, which was more than the RT-9990SM (74,800 yen) and the RT-8980SM (59,800 yen). It has a lot of features, like 10-position MQJS music search. According to the Toshiba catalog, it has 16cm woofers and 4cm tweeters, and its power output was 2x6W (same as the RT-9990SM), using the EIAJ/DC industry testing standard. It measures 484mm wide, 293mm tall, and 147mm deep. We believe this boombox was sold in Japan only, because its FM band only goes from 76-90 MHz, and it is rated for 100 volts.
