Sony SRS-X9

One of the most expensive Bluetooth speakers (about $600 in 2016), the SRS-X9 is a lesson in function over form. It has very minimalist styling. Most of its controls are touch-sensitive, mounted on the glass top panel. There are many different input source options. The Bluetooth has built-in NFC. There is also a Wifi antenna, mounted on a swivel-style pivot, that allows you to connect with your PC. On the back is a USB port, mini-jack input, and even an Ethernet port. Reviewers say that your best sound quality will be achieved via the USB port.

And it caters to people who want to take advantage of their high-resolution audio collection. In addition to MP3 and AAC formats, it also supports FLAC, WMA ,and LPCM (WAV, AIFF).

The grill is removable (it is held on by magnets), allowing you to show off the 7 speakers and 2 passive radiators. Two of those speakers are mounted on the top, for better sound staging.
