Magnavox D2810

The Magnavox D2810/17 Power Booster is from the year 1983. It's very similar to the Philips D2813, but the Philips has different graphics and a 4-band tuner with fine-tuning. It's only mono (not stereo), but it still sounds great because it's got 3 speakers (a 5.5" woofer, 3" midrange, and 2" tweeter), each of which produces a unique sound. The frequency range is nice and broad, with deeper bass and higher treble than I expected. It has separate bass and treble controls, and there is a "Booster switch that dramatically increases the volume. In my opinion, it actually sounds better than Magnavox's bigger and more popular model, the 5-speaker D8443.

Disappointingly, it doesn't have Line In......or even a tape deck. But it's still such a cool unit. Each of the 3 speakers has a chrome dustcap as well as a horizontal chrome "protector" (like Lasonic). This radio would look sweet if you removed the grills or painted them black or dark blue to allow the chrome to better reveal itself.
