The ISP STR-850 was sold in Germany during the 1980's. It has nice bass and a pair of classic analog VU meters.

ISP STR-850

This model is not very flashy or shiny, but it's got very good bass, and some classic old-school VU meters. And the tuner reception is excellent. It has a 4-band tuner, dual antennas, Line In, Loudness, and slots for a shoulder strap (shown in the last photo). It measures 58cm wide, 33cm tall, and 18cm deep, and it weighs 7.2kg (not including batteries). There was a re-branded version of this boombox called the Citizen JTR-1270. The Citizen was sold in North America, and the ISP was sold in Europe. We believe both were manufactured by Orion.

Audio power is provided by a Hitachi HA1392 chip, which will provide approximately 2x6 watts. The speaker magnets are branded "Orion". The woofers have very large and flexible rolled cloth surrounds for good bass. They are 3 ohm, 16cm working diameter, 17cm across the screws, and 18cm total frame diameter. The tweeters are 3 ohm, 5cm working diameter, and 6.5cm across the screws.
