Hitachi TRK-8180 and TRK-8181

From back in the late 1970's (before Hitachi's quality went downhill), comes one of the most classic looking ghettoblasters ever designed. Tons of shiny chrome and aluminum. Tons of knobs and switches. DRPS (Digital Random Program Selection). Full auto stop. VU meters and tuning strength meter. It has 6 inch woofers and 2 inch tweeters, and put out 5 watts per channel. It weighs 14.8 lbs (6.7 kg), not including batteries. It uses 8 D-cell batteries.

It was available in two color combinations. The most common is dark gray (almost black) with bronze speaker rings and black dust-caps: TRK-8180E, TRK-8180W, and TRK-8181H. Then there's the TRK-8180EM, which is silver with silver speaker rings and chrome dust-caps.
