The TRK-8155 was a very classy looking boombox from Hitachi. We believe it was introduced in 1979.

Hitachi TRK-8155

The TRK-8155E is a very good-looking boombox from Hitachi. The service manual is dated May 1979. Dimensions are 455mm wide, 276mm tall, and 167mm deep. It has a 4-band tuner, AFC, Stereo Wide, and Line In. The volume knob is HUGE and feels nice. The speakers include 12cm, 3.2 ohm woofers and 5cm, 8 ohm tweeters. The amplifier chips are Hitachi TBA810SH, which are used in the Sharp GF9191 and GF9494 as well. But since this model is only 9 volts, it will not make as much power. Hitachi says it makes only 2.5W per channel. But it still sounds really nice, punchy, clear, and natural.
